It seems (surprisingly) there is no official definition to a “Smart City” yet.
We, ANYTHING Private Limited, like the definition below, which is based on a collection of different views.
City is a complex super system, which consists on many subsystems, such as neighborhoods, streets, buildings complex, apartments that are complex of rooms inhabited by people. The different inhabited systems are controlled by one super system, known as city. The super system (city) gets information from the inhabited, this information in being analyzed and as a result a new information is going out from the super system to the different inhabited.

There are different approaches and models to Smart City. The following is Dr. Boyd Cohen’s model, which specifies 6 major areas that make a Smart City, each based on 3 measurable parameters:

Different models have been developed by different entities like the Academy, research institutions, Technological services companies to create better Smart City models, which are supposed to give the Governing body better tools to deal with the 21th century needs; Information Analysis, in order to have better decision making system, early detection of disturbances by proactive means, and resources control and distribution, in order to allow the best lifestyle to the people living in it.
